The Commodore Levy Chapel is the oldest land-based Jewish chapel on a Naval Station in North America. Established in 1942 and named for Commodore Uriah Philips Levy in 1959, the Commodore Levy Jewish Chapel celebrated 50 years of service to God and Country in 2009. Access to worship services is available to Active Duty and Reserve Military, their dependents, military retirees, and Civil Service employees. Guests are allowed when accompanied by sponsors or by special permission from the Base Chaplain’s Office. Religious Worship Services are held every Friday evening and during the Holy Days of the Jewish Calendar.
