SYNOPSIS

The Torah Road Trip tells the remarkable true story of Bruce Levin, who, just before the High Holidays, receives unexpected news: his late father’s donated Sephardic Torah needs a new home. Determined to honor his father’s legacy, Bruce sets out on an unforgettable journey from Connecticut to Illinois, transporting the sacred scroll himself after learning the complexities of handling a Torah according to Jewish law. Renting a Chevy Blazer, quickly nicknamed the “Torah Blazer,” he embarks on a heartfelt two-day road trip filled with humor, reflection, and meaning. Along the way, Bruce revisits memories of his father, Abraham, whose life and character echo the biblical figure of the same name. Blending personal narrative, family history, and spiritual insight, this story explores themes of legacy, responsibility, and what it truly means to be a good father, all wrapped in a unique and engaging adventure.

WHY WE LOVE THIS BOOK

"This book is small town America, 1950's and 60's to current times. It is humorous, at times touching and reminiscent of a bygone era. This is prefect for aging baby boomers who have a fondness for storytelling with a purpose."
