Campus Security Officer
Schedule: Varied hours, as needed (including evenings, weekends, and holidays)
Pay Rate: $17/ hour
The Campus Security Officer is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day safety and security of the Sandler Family Campus. This role includes monitoring access to the facility, patrolling the premises, and responding to incidents to ensure the safety of employees, members, visitors, and property. The Security Officer supports the implementation of campus security standards and may assist with coordination of safety procedures under the supervision of security leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor access to the facility to prevent unauthorized entry
- Patrol the building, grounds, and parking areas to ensure safety
- Monitor CCTV systems and report suspicious activity
- Perform badge and ID checks, as needed
- Respond to safety and maintenance concerns
- Open and close the facility according to protocols
- Document incidents and maintain shift logs
- Assist with emergency procedures and evacuation protocols
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of experience in security, law enforcement, or military police
- DCJS certification (required)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean DMV record
- Professional demeanor and strong communication skills
- Ability to work independently and remain alert
Preferred Qualities:
- Familiarity with safety standards including OSHA and DHS protocols
- Customer service mindset
- Comfortable using Windows-based computer systems
