Coordinator of Arts & Lifelong Engagement

Reports To: Director of Arts & Ideas
The United Jewish Federation of Tidewater (UJFT) is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Coordinator of Arts & Lifelong Engagement to support the development, planning, and execution of our vibrant cultural and community programming. This position plays a key role in bringing to life signature initiatives such as our Book Festival, Film Festival, and Cultural Israel Today series, as well as managing engaging programs for local seniors.
Key Responsibilities
Arts & Ideas Programs
- Support coordination of events like the Book Festival, Film Festival, Leon Family Gallery exhibitions, and other cultural initiatives.
- Manage event logistics: venue booking, hospitality, materials prep, artist/speaker coordination, and on-site setup.
- Assist with volunteer engagement and communication.
- Collaborate with Marketing on promotional materials, social media content, and email outreach.
- Maintain records for program tracking and reporting.
Senior Engagement
- Coordinate all aspects of senior programs, including scheduling, room prep, hospitality, and communications.
- Create and distribute newsletters, emails, and phone communications to participants.
- Serve as the point person for senior-related partnerships and projects.
- Monitor budgets and manage purchase requests.
General Responsibilities
- Support other organizational and departmental events and initiatives as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in arts administration, event planning, communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in event or program coordination, preferably in a nonprofit or community setting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized and proactive, with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; comfortable with social media for outreach.
- Team player who can also work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays depending on event schedules.
