Facilities Director
Reports to: Executive Vice President/CEO, UJFT
** START DATE: August 1, 2025 **
The Reba & Sam Sandler Family Campus is seeking a highly skilled Facilities Director to oversee the operations, maintenance, security, and shared services of our community campus. This role ensures a safe, functional, and cost-effective environment that supports a variety of community programs. The Facilities Director will manage assets, supervise staff, coordinate contractors, and ensure compliance with all regulations. This position requires flexibility, as the Facilities Director is on call as needed.
Key Responsibilities

Administration & Financial Management
- Supervises Campus management team and specific JCC directors in accordance with human resources.
- Develops operating procedures and oversees facility records.
- In coordination with the CFO, prepares and manages operating and capital budgets.
- Negotiates vendor contracts, manages billing, space usage rates, and financial reporting.
- Serves as a member of the UJFT/JCC leadership team, working collaboratively with colleagues and staffing appropriate UJFT/JCC board committees including the Campus Management Committee and Wellness/Membership Committee.

Maintenance & Operations
- Implements and oversees preventive maintenance schedules for all building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, pool equipment, etc.).
- Conducts facility inspections, coordinates repairs, and ensures safety compliance.
- Manages landscaping for the Campus, cemeteries, and other properties.
- Maintains up-to-date records on facility maintenance, key control, and safety compliance.

Facility Usage & Development
- Oversees shared spaces, resident agency communication, and project management for renovations.
- Reviews and approves resident agency proposals for facility modifications.
- Manages key distribution and facility access.

Security & Compliance
- Directs security operations, monitors alerts, and coordinates with the Secure Community Network (SCN) Regional Security Advisor and law enforcement.
- Enforces access procedures, background checks, and event security.
- Maintains compliance with safety regulations and insurance requirements.
- Implements emergency preparedness plans and conducts safety drills.

Information Technology (IT) Oversight
- Supervises IT operations and ensures security measures are upheld.
- Maintains technology infrastructure and oversees system updates.
- Manages network security, software, and hardware needs for the facility.

Food Service/Catering Oversight
- Oversees food service operations, ensuring compliance with Kashrut and health standards.
- Manages vending services and related equipment.

Simon Family JCC Membership & Wellness Management
- Oversees aquatics, sports, and fitness program directors, optimizing operations and revenue streams.
- Supervises membership recruitment and retention efforts.

Jewish Life & Community Engagement
- Supports Jewish traditions, holiday celebrations, and campus-wide observances.
- Oversees Campus art acquisitions and aesthetic standards.
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a senior leadership facilities role.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and time-management skills with experience leading capital improvements.
- Valid driver's license.
- Working knowledge of procurement and contracts.
- Familiarity with electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
- Experience with pool operations and maintenance is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and ability to learn new software systems.
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs. and perform physical tasks, including walking, standing, bending, and climbing stairs.
Required Certifications
- Food Service Manager (Virginia Department of Health).
- Commercial Swimming Pool Operator (Virginia Department of Health).
- Standard First Aid and AED/CPR.
- Additional certifications as required for operations oversight.
