Housekeeping Position

Simon Family JCC 5000 Corporate Woods Drive, Virginia Beach VA


The Sandler Family Campus located in Virginia Beach, which houses the Simon Family JCC and several affiliate agencies has immediate positions for Housekeeping/Building Service Workers to clean offices, classrooms, restrooms, and athletic areas and assist with setups. The Sandler Family Campus operates on a seven-day workweek.

We seek dependable, experienced building services/housekeeping candidates to perform day-to-day routine and special cleaning services for the Campus buildings, including but not limited to offices, classrooms, fitness areas, bathrooms, and public areas in accordance with industry standards, campus policies, and as directed by the building services supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Requires a High School Diploma or GED
  • Dependability a must
  • At least one to two years of commercial cleaning experience, preferably at a large institution.
  • Familiarity with the proper use of basic cleaning tools and supplies; diluting cleaning chemicals and safety equipment
  • Must be sensitive to the needs and programs of the center.
  • Ability to work effectively in an environment subject to frequently changing priorities and the ability to remain flexible
  • Customer service experience, and a professional friendly attitude, helpful
  • Must be able to work other shifts if assigned; must be available to work during emergencies
  • Landscaping experience helpful
  • Floor Tech experience, a plus
  • Perform other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Frequent lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds. Constant walking, standing, bending, stooping, stretching, kneeling, and stair climbing, associated with the position.

Complete criminal background check required.
